Expand description
Tokio Lace runtime for async Lace applications.
Most applications use Lace to open memory/filesystem stores, adopt
host-established ILTP transports, build reusable templates with spec!, create
validated Record values with record! or new_record, and then call
the standalone porcelain functions:
list, get, store, for_each, open_interlace, or
bounded_interlace.
A LaceHandle identifies a reusable local participant; a LocalPeer
adds its own policy operand. A move-only
ConnectedPeer adopts host-established ILTP IO with an explicit
carrier role.
Tokio owns sockets, async waiting, typed stream buffering, and task lifecycle.
Core interlace machines remain sans-IO and see only typed semantic messages;
synchronous policy-neutral support stores may live under runtime_support.
Re-exports§
pub use policy::IntoPolicy;
Modules§
- policy
- Policy preparation before participant claiming or replacement staging.
- prelude
- Convenient imports for ordinary Tokio Lace applications.
- records
- Stable record creation, parsing, and hash APIs re-exported for runtime users.
- types
- App-facing types commonly used with the Tokio runtime.
Macros§
- record
- Build and validate a record from a
RecordSpecliteral. - spec
- Build a
RecordSpecfrom Rust literal syntax.
Structs§
- Bounded
Interlace - One bounded interlace.
rundrives it to its terminal; dropping that future leaves the operation owned, its observations kept, and closeable.closecancels it and settles started work. - Bounded
Interlace Outcome - BySecret
- The single zeroizing owner for canonical private By-secret value
(
&.<b64a>.H3). - ByValue
- Canonical record-facing
Byvalue (V.<b64a>.H3). - Channel
Binding - Binding supplied by the owner of a completed encrypted channel. This value is public transcript data, not an independent authority credential.
- Compaction
Report - Compilation
Error - Compilation
Limits - Connected
Peer - A move-only connected participant over host-established raw ILTP IO.
- Connected
Peer Options - Error
- Field
Exclusion - A Lace-130 exclusion: records carrying a matching
Fieldoccurrence. - Field
Occurrence - One borrowed Plex application-field occurrence.
- ForEach
Stream - GetOutcome
- Interlace
Module - Public 040 interlace module.
- Interlace
Operation Options - IoSettings
- Runtime configuration of physical IO, not an operation option.
- Lace
- Lace
Handle - A clonable capability to one store-backed
Lace. - List
Outcome - Local
Peer - A clonable local participant that supplies its own prepared operand.
- Open
Boundary Outcome - Open
Interlace - Port
Text - What a preface’s sender wants to talk to:
SEGMENT(/SEGMENT)*, each segment one or more printable ASCII bytes other than/, at mostPORT_MAX_BYTESin total. - Portable
Store Format - The sizes a portable file store root is created with. Reopening a root uses the sizes recorded at its creation.
- Record
- A validated record: verified canonical bytes from one retained source.
- Record
Hash - Record
Spec - Application-facing record construction intent.
- Record
Stream - The validated records of one record stream, in stream order; see
read_record_stream. - Session
Operand - One logical session’s prepared local operand and optional expected peer By.
- Store
Outcome - Store
Record Result - Store
Stream - The open counterpart of
store: offers records one at a time; seestore_stream.
Enums§
- Arena
Release - Whether the freed arena tail was released to the filesystem.
- Carrier
Role - Compilation
Error Kind - Error
Category - The Lace-100 error category shared by machine, core, and public errors.
- Interlace
Event - A bounded-outcome event;
RecordSavedreports only the record hash. - Open
Boundary - Open
Event - An open-stream event.
RecordSavedcarries the admitted owned record; bounded outcomes project it to the hash-onlyInterlaceEvent. - Participant
- One application participant supplied to an interlace operation.
- Participant
Position - Peer
Proof Assurance - Preparation
Error - Typed preparation failure shared by core validation and authoring frontends.
- Record
Create Error - Error returned by application-facing record construction.
- Record
Kind - Record kind identified by the record glyph line.
- Store
Record Disposition - Stream
Encoding - One direction’s stream encoding, named by its preface token.
- Terminal
- Timeout
Phase
Traits§
- Into
Record Batch - Convert owned or borrowed validated records into a store-operation batch.
Functions§
- bounded_
interlace - bounded_
interlace_ with_ options - compact_
filesystem - Remove every record of the filesystem root at
rootthat none ofpoliciesselects, and release its bytes in place, on a blocking thread. - compile
- Compile one self-contained Interlang contribution with the default source bound. Empty and helper-only contributions have no exchange facet and are rejected.
- compile_
with_ limits - Compile one complete source with an explicit source-byte bound. The fixed exchange rule, arity, and static TopK bounds apply to every emitted rule. Source loading and configuration remain application work, outside compilation.
- configure_
io - Set lace-tokio’s IO settings for work set up afterwards. Existing reservations stay until they are returned; a lower budget only refuses new ones.
- for_
each - for_
each_ with_ options - generate_
by_ secret - Generate a canonical By-secret value from OS randomness.
- get
- get_
with_ options - list
- list_
with_ options - new_
record - Construct and validate the one record kind implied by caller intent.
- open_
interlace - open_
interlace_ with_ options - open_
interlace_ with_ selector - Open an interlace between a local Lace
selectorchooses, position First, andpeer, position Second. Every logical session takes its operand and optional expected peer By fromselector, called with the port of that session’s peer preface; the first call also chooses the Lace, which serves the whole carrier, so a later call must return it again.None, or another Lace, refuses the session asPeerProtocol. Until the first selection the operation owns the transport and its prefacing deadline but no Lace.peermust not carry an expected peer By, and the operation takes no policy replacement. - prepare_
facet_ constraints - Compose authoring and guest policies into one canonical operand.
- read_
record_ stream - Read the records of a record stream from
reader, one at a time. - store
- store_
stream - Open
store’s interlace againsttargetwith an empty private provider and drive it to its first fixed point; thenStoreStream::offereach record. - store_
stream_ with_ options - store_

Type Aliases§
- Result
- Result type used by the Tokio runtime.
